
Advisory: First Winter Storm of Season Could Bring Up to 6 Inches of Snow to CNY
Halloween is barely over, and the first Winter Weather Advisory and Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Central New York - including Utica, Rome and Syracuse. Some areas could see as much as 9 inches of snow.
Ready or not, here comes the snow. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Oneida, Herkimer, Madison, and Chenango counties from 7pm Sunday night to 10am Monday morning and a Winter Storm Watch for Northern Oneida, Northern Herkimer, and Lewis Counties from Monday night to Tuesday morning.
Central New York, including the cities of Utica, Rome, Syracuse, Oneida, and Hamilton could expect to see 3-6 inches of lake effect snow, with heavy snow fall in Northern Oneida County. The Old Forge area could see as much as 9 inches of snow.
Drivers should plan for slippery road conditions and reduced visibility due to blowing snow.
