Applebee’s Restaurants Offering $1 Bahama Mamas

The famous Bahama Mama cocktail was born in the Bahamas during the Prohibition when the islands were a hotspot for alcohol smuggling. Now, Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bars are making their own history with $1 Bahama Mama cocktails, which they've nicknamed the Dollarmama.

For the month of February, when winter can be bleakest in Central New York, you can have a little taste of the Caribbean for a little price--as long as you're 21 or older. And there are lots of nearby locations.

Applebee's has restaurants in Utica, Rome, New Hartford, and Herkimer, and two in the Syracuse area.

By the way, the cocktail is made with white rum, pineapple, lime and orange juice, with hints of coconut and cherry. See if you can pick out all the flavors.
