Booze and Books? This Unique Book Fair Is Coming to Central New York
Book lovers, cancel your Friday night plans. Your TBR pile is about to get even bigger.
If your idea of a perfect evening involves browsing books with a drink in your hand, The Root Farm in Sauquoit has an event with your name written all over it.
For the first time, The Root Farm is hosting a Boozy Book Fair, bringing together books, drinks, shopping and food for a summer night that sounds pretty hard to resist.
Central New York's First Boozy Book Fair
The Boozy Book Fair will take over The Root Farm on Friday, July 31, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Admission is $10 per person and includes your first drink. Alcohol will be available to purchase for guests 21 and older, but don't let the word "boozy" fool you. Readers of all ages are welcome to attend.

So, whether you're searching for your next can't-put-it-down read or just looking for something different to do on a Friday night, this could be worth adding to the calendar.
And really, do we need another excuse to buy more books? The answer is no. But we're taking it anyway.
More Than Just Books
While books may be the star of the show, there will be plenty more to browse.
Vendors scheduled to attend include Athenix Books & Brews, Be. Life, Art, Magic, Caribou Candles, Foxxy Bones, tarot card reader Sara Vivyan, Sandy Daguay with records, The Jewelry Box, The Plant Stand, The Quilty Witch, Thriftish, Tree House Book Shop and Thrown Pottery Studio.
That means you can shop for books, candles, plants, jewelry, records and other unique finds all in one place.
Door prizes and signature drinks will add to the fun, while Scott's Tots will have food available for purchase.
Basically, you could show up looking for one book and leave with a new novel, a candle, a plant and absolutely zero regrets.
Enjoy a Summer Evening at The Root Farm
Part of what makes this book fair a little different is the setting.
Instead of wandering through a crowded convention center, guests can browse books and local vendors while taking in the scenic views at The Root Farm.
The nonprofit organization works to give people of all abilities opportunities to connect with nature, challenge themselves and learn new skills through agriculture, adventure and equine therapy.

Just remember: Buying more books is completely acceptable if you call it building your personal library. Chanel that inner Belle.
