Build-A-Bear Workshop Unveils New Harry Potter Bears

Get your kids ready to enjoy Harry Potter-style Build-A-Bear toys, bearing the insignias of the famous fictitious houses of Potter--Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. That's right: the bears are going wizarding.

The new Harry Potter line of Build-A-Bear cuddly toys is available online, and will be in Build-a-Bear stores (including the Destiny USA mall location in Syracuse) later this fall. When it comes to collaborations, this is a first between Build-a-Bear and Harry Potter, the wildly successful series of fantasy books and movies.

"We are thrilled to be bringing the magic of the Wizarding World to Build-A-Bear Workshop," said Jennifer Kretchmar, Chief Digital & Merchandising Officer.

She added: "Harry Potter fans are sure to be spell-bound by the Harry Potter bear, house robes and Hogwarts uniforms, and bear-sized wands — and more magical clothing and accessories to come."

Build-a-Bear, Inc. is based in Overland, Missouri and was founded in 1997, the year the first Harry Potter novel was released.

During visits to the store or the online shop, customers and their kids assemble and tailor stuffed bears to suit their own preferences, like varying scents, sounds, and outfits. Build-A-Bear Workshop is the largest chain that operates in this style. The company's slogan was "Where Best Friends Are Made" from 1997-2013 when it was changed to "The Most Fun You'll Ever Make."
