Some cars just get pulled over more than others. Are you driving a car that is more likely to get stopped for speeding?

First of all, no matter what kind of car you're driving, if you're speeding you run the risk of being pulled over - Plain and simple. Some cars get pulled over more than others, however. This could be because the type of car that is owned, may make someone more willing to go faster (say, a sports car). This is in no way to say that police target a certain name or type of car. These are just the numbers.

Luckily for us, someone has already done all the work. Insurance.com has compiled a list with more than 300 different vehicles, and they have found the percentage of people who have owned that vehicle that have been pulled over for speeding. The list also shows the least-ticketed vehicles and the most-ticketed vehicles.

The cool thing about this website is it gives you the opportunity to put in your own car make and model, and find out how often that type of vehicle is ticketed.

So, let's look at their numbers - Here is the list of the Top 5 most-ticketed cars, and the percentage of car owners (with that car) that have been pulled over for speeding, according to Insurance.com:

5. Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS/LT          30.8%
4. Volkswagen Jetta GL          31.4%
3. Dodge Charger SE/SXT          32.1%
2. Nissan 350Z          32.5%
1. Lexus ES 300          33.4%

What about the cars with the least amount of tickets? Well, here's your list of the Top 5 (or bottom five if that sounds better to you):

5. Chevrolet Express          7.7%
4. Cadillac ATS          6.2%
3. Acura ILX          5.6%
2. Lexus IS350          3.4%
1. Buick Encore          3.2%

You can find out where your vehicle falls on the list - Whether it's a highly-ticketed car or a least-likely-to-be-ticketed car, by using the Insurance.com's handy tool here.
