Following an agonizing battle for his well-being between his wife and children, Casey Kasem has died, according to TMZ.

Kasem's daughter Kerri shared the news of her father's passing on Facebook on Sunday June 15.

Kasem becamr well known across the country for his 'American Top 40' program which was a weekly countdown of the 40 biggest hits. That program lives on, now hosted by Ryan Seacrest. He was also recognized as the voice of 'Shaggy' in the Scooby-Doo cartoon series.

As Casey Kasem would close each of his broadcasts: Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars.
