Over the weekend, Chrissy Teigen found herself in the crossfire of Donald Trump's latest Twitter rant. The president accused "boring musician John Legend and his filthy mouthed wife" of stealing his thunder when it came to criminal justice reform, but as always Teigen had the last laugh. "lol what a p--sy ass b--ch. tagged everyone but me. an honor, mister president," she wrote in response to his diss, later adding, "the absolute best part of his tweet is I literally didn't speak in the special, nor was I mentioned. I'm cackling at the pointless addition of me because he cannot not be a b--ch"

On Wednesday (September 11), the Lip Sync Battle host visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show and the topic of the Twitter war quickly arose.

“We all just wait for our day to come and mine happened to be Sunday,” Teigen said with a laugh. “My heart stopped because at that moment you know that you’re about to get just the wildest group of people ever.”

She went on to explain what sparked the president's tweets—an MSNBC interview Legend was part of that Teigen not only wasn't a part of, but also had no idea he was shooting—but did say his descriptions of them were fair. “Those two things are true. John is boring. I do have a filthy mouth,” she quipped, also admitting that him targeting her wasn't all too surprising. “This wasn’t that random. I’ve said a lot of things in the past I think since like 2012 I’ve been saying things about him,” she said, explaining that Trump had previously blocked her on the social media platform, and she found out about his comments through screenshots from friends.

However, as unsurprising as it may be, she still felt a sense of shock when she read his comments. “It was a weird feeling. I was really angry. I think my eyes filled up with water just at the shock of it. I can’t believe this really happened right now,” she recalled.

“When the card lands on you that day, it’s like, ‘Oh crap,’ because your whole night’s ruined,” she added. “We spent the entire rest of the night, just sitting next to each other, handing each other our phone. ‘Should I say this?’ ‘No.’ ‘ Should I say this?’ ‘No, it has to be funnier. No, we’re mad! Yeah, we’re mad!’”
