CNN host Anderson Cooper comes from an extremely wealthy family.  His Mom, Gloria Vanderbuilt, is the great-great grandaughter of railroad and shipping tycoon Cornelius Vanderbuilt.  However, despite the family wealth, Cooper won't be inheriting a dime from his Mom.

According to US Weekly, Cooper says there's no trust fund from his Mom, designer Gloria Vanderbuilt and he's okay with that.

I don't believe in inheriting money.  I think it's an initiative sucker.  I think it's a curse.

I'm doing fine on my own.  I don't need any money.

Vanderbuilt, age 90, is worth an estimated $200 million.  Cooper, 46, earns about $11 million  a year from his show on CNN.

Cooper is also unfazed by his family's wealth.  The Vanderbuilts were once one of the richest families in America.

I've never paid attention to it, honestly.  My Dad grew up really poor in Mississippi.  I paid attention to that because I thought that's a healthier thing to pay attention to than like some statue of a great-great grandfather who has no connection to my life.

How refreshing.  I've always liked Anderson Cooper and now I like him even more.
