If you've always wanted to be part of the CNY Ride for Missing Children, here's your chance. The Ride is seeking new riders for the 2018 Ride, and will even help you train throughout the Summer and Fall.

The 2018 Ride for Missing Children will take place on June 1, 2018. Once new riders complete a certain number of training rides, they are guaranteed a spot in the Ride.

According to a press release, The Ride for Missing Children promotes awareness and hope in the plight of missing and exploited children across the country. The event is a one-day, 100-mile bike ride that stops at schools along the route to bring a message of safety. All participating Riders make a vow to raise a minimum of $500 and to commit to the purpose of The Ride:

· To honor the memory of all missing children
· To raise public awareness of the plight of all missing and exploited children and the need for child safety education
· To raise funds to support the missing children poster distribution and community education

Ride for Missing Children Program Director explains the Summer/Fall training program:

As a new rider, you can gain proficiency on such intricacies as shifting gears, calling out obstacles and hydrating from the saddle, while riding with multiple people in a group setting...

If summer training isn’t an option, new riders are still encouraged to register sooner rather than later.
