Have you, or someone you know ever wanted to give roller derby a try? Now's your chance to see what it's all about.

I don't know about you, but seeing roller derby being portrayed in movies and on TV always made it look so cool, so fun. And made me want to learn more about it. At least, to see what it's like in real life (because we all know some things just look better on the screen).

If you've ever felt this way, you can now see what roller derby is really like. You're invited to an informational session on roller derby and an open skate! This event is coming up on Tuesday, March 27 from 7pm to 9pm, and will be held at the "Skate A While" Roller Rink in Rome.

According to the Event Page on Facebook, posted by Central New York Roller Derby, they're looking to add new members to their leagues and will be holding training sessions every Tuesday. Now, they mention that there are other ways to get involved with Roller Derby (besides just skating), you can be a ref or a non-skating official as well.

Central New York Roller Derby does mention you have to be at least 18 years old to skate.

If you're still on the fence, not sure if roller derby is for you, come to this special event on the 27th, learn about the sport, meet some of the members of the Central New York Roller Derby, and have any of your questions answered. You can also get more details and reach out to the roller derby by visiting their Facebook Page at: Central New York Roller Derby
