The Doors were founded by Ray Manzarek and Jim Morrison in Los Angeles in 1965. When they released their debut album in 1967, they went on to be one of the most controversial and influential rock acts of the sixties. Jim Morrison's early death in Paris in 1971 only insured the legend of the band. Sadly, Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek died yesterday (May 20th, 2013) after a "lengthy battle with bile duct cancer." He was 74.

Doors Guitarist Robby Krieger said,

"I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my friend . . . Ray was a huge part of my life and I will always miss him."

Enjoy this incredible performance of Light My Fire is from the Eagle Vision DVD "Live in Europe" featuring Ray.

The Doors have sold 100 million albums worldwide.
