If you fill-up your car's tank today here in Central New York, you'll pay an average of 9 cents a gallon less than you did one month ago.  That's according to AAA.

Prices throughout the area have been falling by about 2 cents each week since the beginning of July.  Right now, the average price of a gallon of self-service regular gas is $2.22.  One month ago, it was $2.31.

In July of last year, Central New Yorkers were paying about 60 cents more per gallon.  For the average vehicle, that's a savings of $10 per tankful from one year ago.  Nationwide, gas prices for this summer are the lowest in the past 12 years.

It's expected the price at the pump will continue to fall due to the over-supply in the U.S., as well as the low cost of crude oil.
