If you thought last week's heat was rough... unfortunately, you're in for some news.

Forecasters say Central New York is about to head into one of the hottest stretches of the summer. While Sunday will feel pretty comfortable with sunshine, highs around 85, and low humidity, things change quickly as we head into the work week.

By Tuesday, temperatures are expected to climb into the 90s and stay there through at least Friday. Add in tropical humidity, and it could feel like it's over 100 degrees outside. Heat Advisories are possible for several days.

It's Going to Feel Much Hotter Than the Thermometer Says

The temperature tells one story, but the humidity tells another.

The "feels like" temperature, also known as the heat index, could reach the upper 90s Tuesday before climbing into the low 100s Wednesday through Friday. Hot enough that your air conditioner will be working overtime.

On top of that, the UV Index will stay in the "very high" category for much of the week. That means you could get a sunburn in as little as 20 minutes if you're outside without protection.
