Is It Rude To Leave A Graduation Ceremony Early?

It's that time of year. Graduation season. Yes, it's a very exciting event. But do you have to stay to watch EVERY student get their diploma? 

Our colleges have thousands of students graduating. Our high schools have hundreds graduating. The graduation ceremony is a tradition that dates back more than 600 years and is regarded as an important rite of passage for students and their families. Congratulations to all graduates on your success. But there's a question that needs to be asked.

Is it rude or selfish to leave the graduation ceremony early?

Graduation Ceremonies last a minimum of  2 hours. You're crammed in a small space.You're sitting in a chair that's killing your back. You have no leg room and feel claustrophobic. It's hot. Very hot.
