Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’ Banned From Graduation Ceremonies by Brooklyn Principal

Justin Bieber‘s ‘Baby’ has been yanked from the music programming of Edna Cohen School in Brooklyn after principal Greta Hawkins came under fire for pulling ‘God Bless the USA’ from the song lineup.

The latter song’s writer Lee Greenwood was furious at Hawkins’ actions, especially since the kindergartners spent months learning the song, which he penned about the love he has for the country. She was criticized for leaving pop fluff like ‘Baby’ in. Apparently, she caved to pressure and removed it. Although that seems like a ridiculous move.

Now, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Hawkins removed ‘Baby’ after deciding it was not appropriate for 5-year-olds. Okay, so who exactly is the adorable song appropriate for? We’re rolling our eyes at the ridiculousness off removing this song.

“The principal has decided she’s not going to sing that song. It’s the principal’s decision, and we support the principals,” NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who smooched Lady Gaga on New Year’s Eve, said Monday (June 11) in a press conference. Clearly, the mayor is siding with Hawkins, even though her actions seem a bit questionable.

There’s nothing inherently offensive about The Biebs’ signature song so we are wondering why it was axed.
