Don't believe anything that you read, see, or hear on April Fools Day. Case in point: Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's baby announcement.

On Monday afternoon (April 1), Biebs posted a sonogram on Instagram with no accompanying caption. While the post made some people skeptical, merely because of the date today, people like Ellen DeGeneres straight up threatened the pop star. "if you're April Fooling me, so help you," the talk show host commented.

Then the "Sorry" singer shared another post got the skeptics on board: a series of photos where Hailey is being examined by doctors with the caption "If U thought it was April fools." He let that one simmer for about an hour, letting the congratulatory comments rack up. Then he laid the bombshell on us. His third post was an ultrasound with a puppy in the womb. "Wait omg is that a,,, APRIL FOOLS" he wrote. Cold. Blooded.

While many people laughed it off, many commenting "Pugstin Bieber," some big names were not happy with the joke. "sksjsj no" Ariana Grande wrote. Fans also opened the 25-year-old's eyes to the detrimental effect of making a joke like that.

"1 in 8 women struggle with infertility and 1 in 4 have experienced infant loss.... think again before posting a tasteless joke," one woman wrote. "This is disgusting. Are you aware of how many women suffer from miscarrying/can’t conceive? Find something else to joke about dumbass," commented another.
