Katy Perry Announces Studio Album ‘Witness’ and Arena Tour: See the North American Dates
Guess that Met Gala headpiece should have been the first clue: after months of speculation by eager KatyCats, Katy Perry finally unveiled the title of her fourth studio album: it's called Witness — and it's coming out in just a few weeks on June 9.
As suggested by her "Purposeful Pop" era-ushering lead single "Chained to the Rhythm," as well as the sexually empowered "Bon Appetit," Witness promises to provide a reflection "on the changes in her own life and in the world around her, delivering songs that both challenge and inspire," according to the official press release.
Katy's new album also comes with its very own tour: WITNESS: The Tour stretches from 2017 to 2018 (so far), kicking off on September 7 in Columbus, Ohio and hitting stops including New York City, Los Angeles, New Orleans and Miami. Katy will be partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to donate tickets to members and volunteers, and $1 of every ticket sold will be donated to the youth development organization.
Tickets for the tour go on-sale beginning next Monday (May 22) at 10 AM, with Canadian tickets going on-sale on May 26. The Ticketmaster Verified Fan pre-sale begins this Thursday (May 18) from 9 AM to 12 PM in the US and May 23 in Canada. For all ticketing information, visit Katy's official website.
This album marks Katy's first full-length since 2013's Prism, and her first tour since the Prismatic World Tour, which ended in 2015.
