Kelly Osbourne has the breast cancer gene BRCA1, the former Fashion Police star announced during her appearance on The Talk on Tuesday (March 24).

"I actually do have the cancer gene. My mom made all of us go get tested after she found out that she had it and got her double mastectomy," she said.

Her timing couldn't have been better. In a New York Times op-ed published on Tuesday, Angelina Jolie wrote about her decision to have her ovaries removed after a doctor told her she might have early-stage cancer. The actress underwent a preventative double mastectomy two years ago.

"I agree with this 100 percent," Osbourne said, commending Angelina's choice. "I know that one day I will eventually have to do it, too, because if I have children, I want to be there to bring them up. I want to be there to support them in every way I can. I have been the child of a cancer survivor, so being on that end of it as well is really, really, really hard to deal with.

"It's something I applaud Angelina for because she's bringing attention to this and now people are going to go out and get tested," Kelly said.

Kelly also shared a sweet story about the ring she wears everyday. "[My mom] was getting taken in to the operating room and she was trying to hide that she was still wearing diamonds because she didn't want to take them off, and the doctor caught her and put it on my finger and it's never come off since. It's a constant reminder that I always have to check myself. I will never take it off," she said.
