Late Winter Storm Could Be Biggest of the Season in Central New York
We may have sprung forward but it's not going to be Spring weather in central New York. Mother Nature is reminding us Winter is still here as a storm could bring over a foot of snow. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued from the National Weather Service.
Winter Storm Warning - 8pm Monday to 8pm Wednesday
* LOCATIONS...much of Central New York.
* ACCUMULATIONS...10 to 15 inches by Wednesday, with localized amounts up to 18 inches, especially over the higher elevations.
* TIMING...Snow is expected to develop over the region after 11 pm. Snow will become heavy at times overnight and on Tuesday. Snowfall rates around an inch per hour are likely. Steady, although lighter snow, will continue Tuesday night and Wednesday, with additional accumulations.
* IMPACTS...Travel will become quite difficult, with snow covered, slippery roads, and poor visibilities. Increasing winds Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday will create significant blowing and drifting snow.
