Middle School Girl Kicked off Her Football Team – Meet Maddy Blythe

A 7th grade student in Georgia was kicked off her school's football team. The reason?

According to a school administrator,

boys are coming of age and starting to have impure thoughts and might lust after her. He said the locker room talk isn’t appropriate for her.

See the school Maddy attends is Strong Rock Christian Middle School in Georgia. And that's where things get sticky. Title IX is the federal law that provides of gender equity for student athletes, however since the school is private and if they don't receive federal funds, they may not have to follow the rule.

Maddy and her family took their cause to social media. A Facebook page called 'Let Her Play' was established and garnered more than 20,000 likes in just a few days. Her cause has been picked up and featured on TV and radio stations across the country.
