Man Found Guilty in Death of Usher’s Stepson
Jeffrey Simon Hubbard has been found guilty in the death of Usher's stepson, Kile Glover, who died in 2012 when he was fatally struck by a jet ski driven by Hubbard.
Eleven-year-old Glover was being pulled in an inner tube with a 15-year-old female friend (who was also injured in the incident) when he was hit by Hubbard, a friend of Glover's mother Tameka Foster (Usher's ex-wife.) To add to the harrowing details, Glover was declared brain dead and then taken off life support since his injuries were impossible to overcome. He died just six days after the incident.
Hubbard, 40, has been found guilty of homicide by vessel, serious injury by vessel, reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft and boat traffic violation, USA Today reports. In March 2013, Hubbard pleaded not guilty and his lawyers claimed that the horrific incident was an accident.
Following his stepson's death, Usher -- who has been divorced from Foster since 2009 -- sought primary physical custody of his two sons, Usher Raymond V and Nayvid Eli Raymond, which he was awarded. Both he and Foster share legal custody of their sons.
In 2013, the Raymond family was involved in another scary water situation with their son Usher Raymond V, who almost drowned in a pool. Fortunately, the little boy was rescued and is doing well. And while Usher and Foster once again bitterly battled custody arrangements in court, their relationship now appears to be amicable.
