Manlius Police Step In to Rescue Runaway Goats and Help Fix Owner’s Fence
It was anything but a typical morning for the Town of Manlius Police Department, and for a few mischievous goats who decided to take a stroll through town.
According to police, officers responded to what quickly became one of the most entertaining calls of the year: a full-on goat roundup. Witnesses say the herd made a break for it before being wrangled back home by Officer Tyrel and Officer Cook, whose quick thinking (and reportedly impressive “here, goaty goaty!” call) brought the chaos to an end.
No horns or hooves were harmed
Fortunately, no horns or hooves were harmed during the operation. Once the goats were safely corralled, Officer Tyrel even lent a hand to help the owner repair the fence, making sure the herd doesn’t pull off a sequel anytime soon.
The department posted about the incident on social media with a wink: “TMPD: Serving, protecting, and herding since… apparently today."

We’d say that deserves a round of a-paws, or maybe just a little hay and some rest for the real stars of the morning.
