Matchbox 20 Pushes Syracuse Concert Date to 2022 Over Continued COVID-19 Concerns
Unfortunately, if you had tickets or were planning to get tickets to see Matchbox 20 at St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview this summer, you'll have to wait another year.
On Monday, the band announced their decision to push back its tour with The Wallflowers to next year, 2022, due to continued concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic and capacity limits at concert venues.
Matchbox 20, led by front man Rob Thomas, was originally scheduled to play the St. Joe’s Amp in 2020, then rescheduled for July 23, 2021, and is now set to visit the Syracuse on July 31, 2022.
Although we are encouraged by the success and speed of the vaccine rollout, there are still far too many varying factors at play. This makes it not possible for us to put together the tour we intend to bring to you. We are extremely disappointed to have to make this decision, but we promise that when we return, we will bring you the greatest show we have ever done.
Any purchased tickets will be honored for the new date in 2022. Additional tickets are available at LiveNation.com starting at $36.

According to Syracuse.com, Dave Matthews Band last played the St. Joseph's Health Ampitheater at Lakeview in 2016 and 2018. DMB sold out the 2016 concert and was near capacity in 2018, when traffic and shuttle issues prevented some fans from arriving before the show started.
Tickets for the show from previous dates will still be honored.
