More Lake Effect Snow Expected to Start Off the Week
The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning for Central New York. Although we had a nice break from the snow and cold this weekend, get ready for the possibility of a foot of snow or even more for Oneida, Madison, and Onondaga Counties.
According to the National Weather Service,
LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM MONDAY TO 7 PM EST TUESDAY... * LOCATIONS...ONONDAGA... ONEIDA AND MADISON COUNTIES IN NEW YORK. * HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW. * ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 8 TO 15 INCHES. * TIMING...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL DEVELOP SUNDAY NIGHT AND BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES LATE SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY. * IMPACTS...VERY DANGEROUS TRAVEL IN HEAVY SNOW... AND POOR VISIBILITY FROM FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW. * WINDS...WEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH. * TEMPERATURES...SINGLE DIGITS AND TEENS. WIND CHILLS -5 TO -15 EARLY TUESDAY.
Use caution when driving and make sure you bundle up because with this snow will come temperatures in the single digits or even lower.
