Polish up your resume and check it for misspellings; your shot at a job at Amazon's HQ2 could be just a stone's throw away. Check out this timeline:

Earlier in 2017 Amazon announced plans to build a second headquarters and accepted bids and applications from cities nominating themselves for consideration. The online giant received applications from 238 cities.

In October, Fortune magazine published an article quoting a Dallas-based consultant named The Everest Group. Their prediction was that Amazon would land in one of these six cities--Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, New York, and Washington D.C.

Now, an Irish oddsmaker named PaddyPower.com, is throwing Rochester, New York into the mix, and gives the Western New York city equal odds as Chicago.

In fact, according to PaddyPower's assessment, there are only six other cities with BETTER odds than Rochester to land the bid, and secure the 50,000 or so jobs that come along with it.

Atlanta and Austin are the leading candidates, both currently at 3/1, while Rochester (along with Chicago, Toronto, and Philadelphia) sits at 16/1. New York City is 14/1.
