New Hartford Makes ‘Top 50′ of New York State’s High Schools
One Mohawk Valley high school has made the list of the 'Top 50' in New York.
New Hartford Senior High School, in Oneida County, has made it into the Top 50 according to US News & World Report. It is the only high school in the Mohawk Valley to break into the Top 100 this year.
Some of the stats that earned New Hartford High School this ranking:
- 71% of their students took at least one AP exam, 54% of students passed at least one
- 98% of students are proficient in math and English
- 100% of students graduated
Other schools in Central New York also received a ranking from US News and World Report:
- Fayetteville-Manlius #67
- Skaneateles #70
- Cazenovia #93
In the Mohawk Valley, Clinton High School ranked #140, and Hamilton ranked #167.
According to the district, "New Hartford Senior High School has been consistently ranked as one of America’s Best High Schools by US News and World Report, earning a number of Gold and Silver Medals over the years. While US News has changed its ranking methodology for 2019, the results for the Senior High are no less impressive. US News has replaced its Olympic-style awards with a new High School Report Card which ranks schools out of 100 points. As a result, the Senior High is now recognized as a nationally ranked school, earning a 96.96."
