Target Locations to Host Car Seat Trade-In Event in April
All Target locations are hosting a car seat trade-in event, so you can exchange your old seat, and get a new one at a discount.
How exactly do you go about trading in a car seat at your local Target? All you need to do is bring your old car seat to customer service, and in exchange, you'll receive a coupon for 20% off a new seat, or any other qualifying baby gear. The trade-in event is taking place now through Saturday, April 17, 2021.
In order to qualify and take part in the trade-in event, you need to be a member of Target Circle. Coupons can be applied to both in-store and online purchases and are eligible through May 1, 2021.
During the trade-in event Target will accept and recycle all types of car seats, including infant seats, convertible seats, car seat bases, harness or booster car seats and car seats that are expired or damaged. Materials from the old car seats will be recycled by Target’s partner, Waste Management.
Did You Know That Car Seats Expire?
Yes, according to the Washington Post, car seats typically expire after six years from the date of manufacture.
"A sticker that provides the serial number includes manufacture and expiration date. They say there's not really a single reason for that, and there's many different things that contribute to the expiration, including data, upgrades to features for safety, and what it's made out of."
Target locations all over Central New York will be hosting this trade-in event. You can visit in New Hartford, Fayetteville, and Cicero.
