New York ‘Entering A Vulnerable Time’ With COVID
Gov. Hochul believes the chances of spreading COVID are increasing.
On Tuesday, Gov. Kathy Hochul updated New Yorkers on the state's progress combating COVID-19. 5.06 percent of all tests came back positive in the previous 24 hours. The 7-day positivity rate is also 4.19 percent.
While we're entering a vulnerable time this winter, when the chance of spreading COVID-19 is higher, the good news is that we are not defenseless," Hochul said. "Vaccinations are safe, free, and readily available for all New Yorkers."
Hochul also encouraged all New Yorkers to get vaccinated.
"If you plan to spend time with your family this holiday season, plan to get vaccinated, and get the booster shot if you're already vaccinated. Wear a mask, wash your hands, and protect yourself and your loved ones," she added
Hochul confirmed 90.8 percent of all New Yorkers 18 and older have received at least one vaccine while 80.7 percent have completed their vaccine series. 78.1 percent of all eligible New Yorkers have at least one vaccine dose.
Hochul reported 41 more New Yorkers died from COVID. 386 New Yorkers were admitted to the hospital. 2,922 New Yorkers are currently hospitalized with COVID with 567 in ICU and 303 in ICU with intubation.
