Photos From Thruway Pileup At Exit 39-40 In CNY

A 14 mile stretch of the NYS Thruway was shut down in both directions due to a huge vehicle pileup that included cars, tractor trailers, and box trucks.

This horrific accident injured six people. Luckily no one was killed in massive pileup. Anna Vogel who was involved in the crash was able to take these photos of the wreckage.

Syracuse.com reports that it took about 9 hours to clear the wreck between Exit 39 near Syracuse and Exit 40.

Police say ice on the road made for slippery conditions which caused the massive pileup.
