Robert Pattinson Describes Putting on the Batsuit For the First Time
We are still a long ways away from Robert Pattinson’s first movie as Batman, which might be called The Batman and might be called, Batman: Darkness, No Parents. (I mean, at this point, who’s to say, really?) That doesn’t mean we can’t start getting excited about the prospect of the film, though. Especially since Pattinson himself sounds pretty excited about the whole thing.
Talking with Variety about his upcoming movie The Lighthouse, Pattinson did also discuss a little about his Batman movie, which he’s making with director Matt Reeves. Pattinson talked about putting on the famous Batsuit for the first time, calling it “maybe the craziest thing” he’d ever done in his professional career.
Saying the whole experience was “transformative, he continued:
“You do feel very powerful immediately. And it’s pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating. You’ve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you’ve got it on, it’s like, ‘Yeah I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs.’
Well, that’s a mental image that’s going to linger.
It’ll be interesting to see what the Pattinson Batsuit looks like (although this could have been some old Batfleck they had lying around for a screen test, who knows). We might not see it for months and months, though; The Batman is currently scheduled for release in June of 2021.
