After rumors during the holiday season that the Sears store at Sangertown Square Mall in New Hartford would be closing soon, the company confirmed that, yes, Sears would be shutting its Central New York location.

According to a report from WKTV, Sears will be closing in June.

The Sangertown Sears store  and auto center employ 109. According to the Sears Corporate Office, eligible employees will receive a severance package and have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Sears and KMart stores.

Other Sears locations in the region include the Sears Outlet Appliance store in Rome, Shoppingtown Mall in DeWitt, Great Northern Mall in Clay and Rotterdam Square near Schenectady.
