Severe Thunderstorms Could Bring Hail and Isolated Tornadoes to CNY
The National Weather Service says Central New York could see severe thunderstorms, accompanied by a chance of hail and isolated tornadoes.
We're not in Kansas, anymore. Central New York has already experienced unusually wet weather this spring, and now more rain is on the way.
The National Weather Service says Central New York is under the greatest risk from heavy winds that could develop as part of thunderstorms that will develop later today, primarily after 1pm. The NWS also identified a risk for isolated tornadoes and hail.
The current forecast calls for "scattered showers and isolated thunder may be found at times this morning as a warm and unstable air mass makes its way into the area. Thunderstorms will be more likely this afternoon to early evening, some possibly severe with strong winds and hail."
Sunday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 51.
Memorial Day - Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.
Monday Night - A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
