UPDATED 3:58 p.m.- A standoff involving an armed suspect in Stockbridge ended peacefully this afternoon.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office says deputies attempted to execute an arrest warrant from Oneida County Family Court when 31-year old Andrew Hadlock allegedly grabbed a rifle and pointed it at the deputies.

They say Hadlock then barricaded himself inside his home on Clearview Drive East in the Town of Stockbridge.

Phone contact was established with Hadlock and after about two and a half hours of negotiations, Hadlock came out of the home and surrendered to authorities without incident.

Several charges against Hadlock are pending.

The Sheriff's Office issued a Shelter in Place Order for area residents and Stockbridge Valley Schools were put on lockout during the incident.

SWAT teams and armored vehicles from Madison County, Oneida County and the NYS Police were activated and responded to the scene
