The Los Angeles Marathon was last Sunday, and Utica's own Hermin Garic delivered!

Hermin Garric sweated it out for a grueling 26.2 miles in the City of Angels earning him an 8th place overall finish in the wheelchair division.

Garric finished the race in 1 hour, 53 minutes, and 30 seconds. Garic was able to compete in a customized racing chair, complete with carbon wheels. (WKTV)

Garric's success shouldn't come as a surprise to us, he posted a 1st place finish in the Miami Marathon earlier this year!

When Garric was four, he was involved in an accident which caused him to lose use in both of his legs. Garric moved to Utica from Bosnia when he was 14. Upon arrival, he joined Sitrin Healthcare's adaptive rehabilitation program. Since then, he's a force to be reckoned with. He placed 3rd in the Boilermaker in 2005, and he continues standout like a bright and shining STAR! Congratulations Garric!

The 13th Annual Sitrin Celebrity wheelchair basketball game is coming up on April 16th at Utica College. If Garric plans on playing, Naomi Lynn and I may have our hands full. I have a hunch that he's just as dangerous on the basketball court as he is on the race course.  For tickets and to see who is playing at this year’s event CLICK HERE.

Just Jen and I chatted about Garric and the Sitrin STARS this morning. Take a listen!
