Winter's not quite over yet. While most of the snow has melted in Central New York, there is still some on the ground in Old Forge. And this weekend will be the perfect chance to keep winter alive a little longer.

Snowfest is the last great snowmobile event of the season. The big four manufacturers (Ski Doo, Yamaha, Polaris and Arctic Cat) are bringing in the new 2018 sleds for a special "sneak peek" tour. If there's enough snow on the ground, they will be letting people take the new sleds out for demo rides. Here's what they had to say at the Old Forge Visitors Information Center:

Its looking like we should be able to do the demo rides as of now. Town crews are transferring snow to build up the trails down North St to get out. The Town of Webb/Inlet Snowmobile Trails are in marginal to fair condition, with up to 4 inches of base. Some areas have minimal coverage, and bare spots exist. Main trails which usually get more traffic, such as #1 and #5 are marginal. Most interior trails including #10, are fair and rideable. Either way its a great way to see all the manufactures 2018 snowmobiles. (Old Forge Visitors Information Center Facebook)

Stop by the local snowmobile dealers to see what's going on Friday, March 10, 2017 and Saturday, March 11, 2017 - Big Moose Arctic Cat & Yamaha, Don's Polaris and Smith Marina all have specials, demos and events going on. You can find out more at OldForgeNY.com.

Are you still in the mood for more winter? It is, after all, just the beginning of March. And winter in the Adirondacks, well you know what they say.
