ALERT CANCELED: Statewide Amber Alert Issued for Missing NY 3-Year-Old

UPDATE: Alert canceled. Child has been found safe. 

A statewide AMBER ALERT has been issued for a missing 3-year-old New York girl, who authorities believe is in 'imminent danger.'

The South Hampton Town Police Department has activated the New York State AMBER Alert and is investigating a child abduction that occurred near Pleasure Dr, in Riverhead, New York at about 8:22 PM on 9/5/2019.

The little girl, Vanessa Tennant-Mitchell, is African-American, approximately 3 years old with braided, black hair and brown eyes. The suspect, Patchita Tennant a.k.a Patricia is a Black female, approximately 42 years old with braided, black hair and brown eyes. Patricia was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt.

They may be in a Grey SUV Hyundai Santa Fe with NY license plate number HUS7151. They were last seen traveling on Pleasure Dr.

The child was taken under circumstances that lead police to believe that they are in imminent danger of serious harm and/or death.
