SUNY Schools Announce New COVID Guidelines And Start Dates

January is almost over and as the winter rolls on, the focus turns to the spring and for students in the SUNY school system, that date is approaching quickly.

According to a news release from SUNY, in-person classes will begin on February 1st, with weekly COVID-19 testing being mandatory for everyone. Most SUNY students were sent home before Thanksgiving in an effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

As a vaccine is being distributed, things are starting to look a little brighter than the last few months of 2020. Most students at every level of education have gotten used to a new way of doing things. Even our kids are wearing masks without a second thought. We have a 4 year old who is attending Pre-K and wears his mask and has his temperature checked before each school day.

The new normal of doing things has helped keep many of the germs out of our home. There are hardly as many sniffles, runny noses and coughs as there would have been pre-mask era. We wash our hands often and clean surfaces around the home more often. It seems to have helped around our house and among businesses and homes around the country as well.

As the 2021 gets going, there are many things to look forward to.The Buffalo Bills showed that it is possible to gather thousands in a save and organized way and that may pave the way for other events to happen this year. Fingers crossed, we may even have some concerts to attend!
