The 2014 NFL season is about to officially begin but the Buffalo Bills will first have to finish the preseason tonight, Thursday August 28th verses the Detroit Lions at 7:00PM. Sammy Watkins most likely not play and perhaps he'll miss the season opener as well.

The rumor is that superstar wide receiver Sammy Watkins will not play tonight as he is still nursing sore ribs after being wrapped up by rookie linebacker Ryan Shazier two weeks ago during the Steelers game. Fans are still cringing after seeing him grabbing his side. Robert Woods has shined in his absence.

Sammy Watkins is widely referred to as one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the NFL, which is why The Buffalo Bills traded up to grab him with the fourth overall pick during the draft.

An injury of any significance to a starting player is a major blow to The Buffalo Bills who are ranked again this year as 27th overall. They need big things from Sammy and the rest of their starters this season to improve on that poor ranking.
