The Ten Songs People Misquote The Most
Getting the lyrics wrong is not uncommon. Especially working in the radio business, I hear lots of funny titles and words to songs that aren't correct. Curious about the ten songs people misquote the most?
Before you look at the top ten, have you ever heard someone singing "Rock the cat box" instead of the correct words "Rock the Casbah?" Or "Wrapped up like a douche when you're rolling in the night? instead of the correct lyric: "Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night?" And no, Jimi Hendrix didn't sing "Excuse me while I kiss this guy" in his song "Purple Haze." The correct words are "Excuse me while I kiss the sky." Sound familiar?
Spotify listed these ten songs as the ones most often misquoted, according to CNN. People report hearing mixed up song lyrics most often at concerts, karaoke bars(not surprising that people unleash their inner wanna-be singer after downing a few drinks), on public transportation and at work. Does it bug you when someone sings the wrong lyrics? Are you guilty of mixing up song lyrics? I think we've all done it at one time or another.
