My cousin is expecting her first child this winter.  While she's thrilled about the baby, she's amazed at some of the insensitive things strangers and friends have said to her.  If you've had a baby, you can probably relate.

Something about pregnancy seems to bring out the best and worst in people.  Why strangers think it's okay to touch your stomach is beyond me.  I would never do that to anyone, let alone someone I didn't know.  I asked a bunch of moms what were some of the inappropriate things said to them while they were pregant.

Read on and see how many of these things have been said to you and feel free to add to the list too.

You are so huge.

What happened to you?

Are you expecting twins?  (and you're not)

Was this planned?

You're never going to sleep again.

Can I touch your stomach?

Will this be your last?

You look like you're going to pop.

You must be due any day now.  (you have 3 months to go)

Aren't you kind of old to be having a baby?

I was in labor for days and days.

Do you know who the father is?

So skip any of the above and if you're not sure what to say, how about congratulations?
