Two Area Department Stores Will Open On Thanksgiving

With more and more retailers announcing that they will not open on the Thanksgiving holiday this year, two stores located in our area have said they will open again in 2016.  J.C. Penney, with locations in Sangertown Square, New Hartford and on Erie Boulevard in Rome, will open at 3 p.m. on the holiday.   Kohl's, located in the Orchard's Plaza in New Hartford will open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving, according to CNBC.com.

Some major stores have not yet announced their Black Friday plans for this year.  One of those is Target.  Wal-Mart plans to open many of it's stores all day on Thanksgiving.
