Utica Bread Closing Downtown Location, Moving to New Hartford
Utica Bread has announced they will be transitioning from their downtown Utica location to one on Genesee Street in New Hartford.
Earlier this year, Utica Bread said they planned to open a satellite store in New Hartford, at 56 Genesee Street in the village.
In a Facebook post earlier this week, the owners announced they planned to close the Utica location and "transition" to the New Hartford location, which has yet to open. They also reminded customers their products will still be available in Utica, at 900 Oswego Street, home of Hemstrought's Bakery.
Reactions have been mixed, with many commenters happy to see Utica Bread make the move, while others were disappointed with the decision.
"Congrats! We are one large community and our primary focus should be on supporting the success of our local business owners! Can’t wait to see you in New Hartford," posted one woman.
"Well this is disappointing. The initial post about New Hartford sounded more like another satellite location, not a move from "Utica", commented another.
The official date for the transition has not yet been announced. We'll update you as soon as we know when you'll be able to find Utica Bread in New Hartford.
