For some crazy reason every kid wanted a Furby in 1998. To this day I still don't understand why. But for some reason it's always the crazy ones that gets people talking and buying. Lets head back to the year where Jack Dawson won a ticket on-board the Titanic, let's talk about Furby.

In 1997, Hasbro acquired Tiger Electronics, the creators of the popular Giga Pets. So Hasbro wanted to take the Giga Pets to the next level, and that was Furby. This furry toy spoke "Furbish" but still stole our hearts. You could pick them up in any Toy Store in America. Nowadays they sit on the shelves of eBay stores and Salvation Armies nation wide.

Furby sold 1.8 million units in 1998 and a staggering 14 million in 1999. Combined, Furby had a vocabulary of nearly 200 Furbish and English words — but he really needed only one phrase — "I love you" — to tackle the hearts of kids and adults all over the U.S.”

Do you remember seeing this on TV?
