The pandemic has caused all of us to have a bit of negative energy. Between staying home and social distancing, we need something positive to get us through the tough period we're in. What a way to add a little bit of positive energy to the mix than by spending some time with some penguins?
The Wild Animal Park in Chittenango has gone live with sessions for Penguin Encounters on their website and are now taking reservations. It’s a half hour long encounter, any interaction is on the penguins terms. Which means, yes, you could possibly have the opportunity to waddle like a penguin with a penguin. Sounds like a bucket list task getting crossed off right there.
The park is self is closed, but anyone can book an encounter. There are, however, limited time slots available and they sell out fast. If this is something your considering for yourself or someone you know, definitely take advantage of it now and schedule yours fast.
You MUST wear pants and closed toe shoes if you plan on attending the penguin encounter, but here's some other things you'll need to know:
This is a fun, educational and hands on learning experience and everything is done safely and with the penguins best interest in mind. There is a max of 6 people. Age limit is 6 and older and children must be accompanied by an adult. There is a 48 hour cancellation notice to rebook, there are no refunds. You must arrive 15 minutes early to your encounter and a waiver must be signed by all participants. There are late fees and a no-show fee for every encounter.
