There have been some amazing tales told about fish in Africa that can apparently leap into the air to catch fast-flying birds as they zoom by. Well, now the video of this impressive feat by the African tigerfish will have you afraid to go in the waters of Africa.

In the calm waters of an African lake a few migrant swallows fly near the surface and suddenly, a tigerfish leaps out of the water to catch it's prey.

The Smithsonian Channel tells us:

It's been clear for ages that the African tigerfish is a vicious predator. Just check out those teeth.

Now researchers in South Africa say they've got video that proves something else that's really amazing about "Africa's answer to the piranha"

You'll never catch me in the waters of Africa any time soon.
