Wiener Dog Racing Coming To Vernon Downs

Horses were so 2017. Wiener dog racing is coming to Vernon Downs and fans are invited to enter their own wiener to hit the starting line.

Vernon Downs announced the day of Wiener racing - the Wiener Dog Trot - will take place on July 14. The casino is searching for contestants to enter and become top dog in the ultimate dachshund division. They're taking the first 30 entries in a wiener-take-all battle for all the glory, so sign up and start training. Dogs have until July 4th to enter.

According to their post, Live Racing Post Time is at 6:10pm. There will be three heats. Top three wieners from each heat race advance to the finals.

1st Place: $500 Wagering Voucher
2nd Place: $200 Wagering Voucher
3rd Place: $100 Wagering Voucher
