Win a Free Camping Experience Near Central New York
New York and Vermont are trying a new tactic to lure first-timers to the camping experience: free gear and campsites.
In an effort to boost tourism and camping, the two adjoining U.S. states have offers for first-time campers to give the idea a try at state parks across the Empire and Green Mountain states. The parks loan you tents, cooking stoves, lanterns, sleeping pads, and more--and give you a free campsite.

The sign-up deadline for New York State has already passed for 2018, but Vermont's Happy Camper program still has free slots available for the month of August at Bomoseen State Park in Castleton and Button Bay State Park on Lake Champlain in Ferrisburgh.
