Here comes winter. Heavy snow and possible record cold temperatures start the work week in central New York. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service says a mix of rain and/or snow is expected Monday. It'll change to all snow late in the day and continue into Tuesday morning. "Some decent accumulations possible."

The heaviest snow is expected in the Finger Lakes, along the Thruway and in Oneida County. Utica, Rome and Boonville could see 5 to 9 inches of snow, creating messy road conditions Tuesday morning.
