You Can Cuddle and Feed a Sloth at The Wild Animal Park in Chittenango
The Wild Animal Park in Chittenango is offering visitors the chance to cuddle up to the most chill animal on the planet: the sloth. Isn't this experience we all need right now?
Stanley and Stella, the park's sloths, are more than happy to hang around with visitors during scheduled "Sloth Encounters" at the park.
The park had been closed as a result of the pandemic, and then re-opened with a Drive-Thru Safari - now they're fully re-opened, and are scheduling sloth encounters once again.
The encounters last for a half hour, and as the park says "it's on the sloth's terms," but can include feeding and touching.
There is a maximum of 6 people for any encounter, and the kids need to be 6 or older and accompanied by an adult.
You can book an encounter by calling 315-510-3347, or online at wildparkshop.com, starting September 1st. There is a 48-hour cancellation notice required, if you need to rebook. Encounters are available 7 days a week, from 10am-5pm.
Rates are as follows:
- 1-2 people is $150 plus tax
- 3-4 people is $200 plus tax.
- Each additional person over 4 people is $50 plus tax.
You can also grab a gift certificate to "gift" an encounter to the animal lover you know.
The Wild Animal Park is open weekdays 10am - 5pm, and weekends, 9:30am - 6pm. The park is also still operating its drive-thru safari, 7 days a week, from 10am - 5pm.
You can find The Wild Animal Park on Facebook, and the Safari on Facebook as well, and online at thewildpark.com.
