Youth Football Ref Beaten by Parents Settles for $275,000 [VIDEO]
We all know football is a violent sport, but who knew it could take its toll on the referees?
Jayme Ream, a youth football referee from St. Petersburg, Florida, recently settled a case for $275,000 after he was injured during a brawl with parents -- and players -- during a game he was refereeing in 2011.
Ream was working the game when the coach of one team misunderstood a personal foul Ream called against the other squad. Things quickly got out of hand and Ream wound up on the ground with a fractured shoulder. You can see some of that footage below.
Ream threw the first punch, although an investigation revealed he was only trying to defend himself.
